The popular Ski-Doo snowmobiles are being recalled in the U.S. and Canada due to safety concerns. The U.S. safety watchdog, Consumer Product Safety Commission, has issued a notice regarding the risk of a ski breaking, potentially causing a crash and serious injury.

Details of the Recall

The recall includes all of BRP's 2024 Ski-Doo MXZ and Renegade snowmobiles equipped with "Pilot X" skis. Approximately 8,100 snowmobiles in the U.S. and 5,600 in Canada are affected by the recall.

Action Needed

Owners of these snowmobiles are advised to stop using them immediately and contact BRP to schedule a free inspection. A no-cost replacement of the left ski will be provided at a dealership.

Reason Behind the Recall

The safety concern stems from a potential issue during the molding process of the left Pilot X skis at the supplier. BRP has communicated this risk to Ski-Doo owners, emphasizing the need for inspection and replacement.

Parts Availability

While the repair is expected to take less than an hour, there is a limited supply of parts in Canada and the U.S. Customers in other countries can expect parts availability starting from Feb. 8.

Stay safe and ensure compliance with the recall to prevent any accidents or injuries related to this issue.
