Thailand stocks experienced a decline for the third consecutive session on Monday, as the composite Thailand SET Index SET, -0.36% dropped by 0.4% to 1,384.31.

Declining Stocks

Among the stocks that suffered the largest decline, Com7 COM7, +4.00%, a retail/wholesale firm, tumbled by 16.9%. This was followed by Thai Coconut COCOCO, -6.32%, a company that saw a plunge of 13.5%. Additionally, health care/life sciences company Chularat Hospital CHG, -4.91% experienced a significant drop of 11.6%.

Leading Stocks

On the other hand, Eastern Polymer Group EPG, -0.75%, a basic materials/resources company, emerged as the biggest leader during the session with an increase of 6.8%. Transportation/logistics firm Regional Container Lines RCL, +3.19% also performed well, registering a growth of 3.6%. Xiaomi Corp. TDR XIAOMI80, -3.38%, operating in the technology space, secured the third spot among the leaders on Monday, with shares gaining 3.5%.

Other Southeast Asian Markets

While both the Singapore and Malaysia stock exchanges were closed during this period, the Philippines' PSEi Index PSEI, -0.74% declined by 0.7%. On the other hand, Indonesia's JSX Composite Index JAKIDX, +0.43% increased by 0.4%.

Asia-Pacific Region Performance

In the Asia-Pacific region, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index HSI, +1.30% added 1.3% to its performance, while Japanese companies exhibited a slight gain of 0.1% as reflected by the NIKKEI 225 Index NIK, +0.05%. Chinese companies represented by the Shanghai Composite Index SHCOMP, +0.25% observed a growth of 0.2%.

South Korean and Australian Markets

The KOSPI Composite Index 180721, -0.24% of South Korean stocks fell by 0.2%, while the S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index XJO, -0.40% of Australian stocks witnessed a decline of 0.4%.

Currency Update

Regarding the currency front, the U.S. dollar USDTHB, -0.03% remained steady at 36.02 Thai baht, while the euro EURTHB, -0.30% experienced a slight fall of 0.3% to 38.51 baht.
