Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown has agreed to terms on a five-year supermax contract extension that will pay him up to $304 million, his agent said on Tuesday.

Record-Breaking Deal

Brown's new contract makes NBA history as the most lucrative deal ever signed, surpassing the $264 million agreement secured by Nuggets center Nikola Jokic last year.

Stellar Performance

A two-time All-Star, Brown showcased his skills with career-high averages of 26.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists last season. However, his numbers declined during the playoffs, culminating in the Celtics' defeat to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals. In Game 7, Brown contributed 19 points on 8 of 23 shooting, with only one successful three-point attempt out of nine tries.

Supermax Eligibility

Due to his inclusion in the All-NBA second team, Brown became eligible for the supermax extension. This well-deserved recognition marks his first such honor in his career.

The news of Brown's contract extension was initially reported by ESPN and later confirmed to The Associated Press by his agent, Jason Glushon.
