Ontario-based cannabis company, Canopy Growth, announced on Tuesday that it has obtained its certification from the EU. This certification allows the company to export medical cannabis to medical markets in Europe and worldwide.

Streamlining Production while Expanding Markets

Canopy Growth has successfully received the EU goods-manufacturing practice certification from RP Tuebingen, Regional Health Inspectorate of Baden-Wuerttemberg. This certification marks a significant milestone, completing the consolidation of its production facilities into two purpose-built sites at their cannabis cultivation facility in Kincardine, Ontario.

Expanding Distribution Channels

Currently, Canopy Growth's medical brands are already distributed in various medical markets. These include Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, as well as the Asia-Pacific markets of Australia and New Zealand. With the EU GMP certification, the company aims to preserve and capitalize on opportunities across distribution channels in the EU medical markets.

Future Market Expansion

In addition to facilitating current operations, Canopy Growth views this certification as a gateway to enter new medical markets as they continue to legalize. This puts the company in a favorable position for expansion and growth opportunities.
